TAMPA BAY – Former Buccaneers TE Rob Gronkowski is out living his best life and it was on full display Thursday during his Gronk Beach Las Vegas draft party.

While doing so, many Buccaneers fans -and many in the NFL world- are anxiously awaiting his decision on whether or not he’ll return to Tampa Bay for another season.

Gronkowski has already been on record saying he’ll only play for the Buccaneers in 2022. His decision will be based off his desire to play the game of football and not which team he wants to play for.

But there may be one way to not only speed the process up, but guarantee Gronk’s return. And he revealed exactly what that was to Sports Illustrated during Thursday’s throwdown.

There ya, have it folks.

This has no bearing on Gronkowski’s future with the Buccaneers or football, in general

I’m not entirely sure if the reporter asking the question was being entirely serious. Julian Edelman has been out of football for over a year now and the Buccaneers have a deep receiver room. Even with Chris Godwin rehabbing the torn ACL he suffered against the Saints back in December.

Gronkowski is obviously having fun with the question, as he typically does. Whether or not there’s any reality attached to his answer is anyone’s guess and only something that Gronkowski knows. But the big takeaway, here, is to not waste your time thinking about this.

The Buccaneers did just add three tight ends on draft weekend and now have five tight ends on the roster, but that, like Gronkowski’s answer, has no bearing on whether or not he will return.

The odds on Edelman becoming a Buccaneer are almost non-existent. But hey, maybe the Buccaneers will buy Gronk’s semi-ultimatum and take a swing on the former Patriot.

Crazier things have happened in the NFL, that’s for sure.
