Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Devin White had a harsh message for New Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston after the Bucs’ win on Sunday.

White, who was teammates with Winston for one season in Tampa, threw some major shade by bringing up Winston’s 30 interceptions with the Buccaneers in 2019.

“When Jameis left our team, everybody knew what he did that last year,” said White. “We feel like we had a great defense then and you know he threw 30 picks. We just knew he’d give us the ball [on Sunday].”

Ouch. That’s probably tough to hear if you’re Winston.

But it’s not like White is wrong. Winston threw three interceptions against the Buccaneers on Sunday. And it’s certainly tough to win a game when your quarterback throws three interceptions.

It’s a bit of a surprise, however, to hear White throw shade at Winston like that. In the NFL — and pro sports in general — you never know who your teammate might be the next season.

White and Winston could end up on the same roster again at some point. And if that happens, there will likely be an awkward conversation or two between White and Winston.
