It seems the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have more bad news, on top of their loss last night to the Baltimore Ravens.

After Shaq Barrett was carted to the locker room with what the team called an “ankle injury”, the notion was that it was another important Buccaneers defender that went down with an unfortunate injury.

But after the game, a report from Ian Rapoport detailed the injury and explained how the injury wasn’t just a simple ankle problem.

Fans held the breath, hopeful that the initial exam’s results would be deemed incorrect based on the MRI that was scheduled to take place today.

Unfortunately for fans, the team, and Barrett, it appears the initial exam was correct, as Barrett is set to miss the rest of the season with a torn achilles.

This is obviously a big blow for Tampa Bay.

Barrett still plays a big part in this defense and the corresponding success it usually has. Without him, this defense will have to rally together and really find a way to make up for the impact that has been lost.

This team has been fighting through adversity all season long, and it appears they’ll have to continue their fight for a while longer.
