The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl this upcoming season, but their journey back to the big game won’t be easy.

That’s because the Buccaneers face one of the biggest challenges in the NFL in 2022.

Tampa Bay will travel more miles in 2022 than any other franchise in the NFL.

According to CBS Sports, the Bucs will travel 26,562 miles this upcoming season. The Seattle Seahawks will travel the second most amount of miles at 25,963.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will travel the fewest miles of any team in 2022 (6,512 miles).

Tampa Bay and Seattle are at the top of this list in part due to their game against each other in week 10 when the two teams will play in Munich, Germany.

The Buccaneers will also make a couple of trips to the west coast. Tampa plays on the road against the San Francisco 49ers in week 14 and on the road against the Arizona Cardinals in week 16. The Bucs also play the Dallas Cowboys on the road in 2022.

Traveling the most miles in the NFL won’t make or break the Buccaneers’ season. I don’t think there’s a team more well-prepared to handle adversity than Tampa Bay (the Tom Brady effect). But it’s still not ideal. Excessive traveling takes a toll on the human body — even on elite athletes.

This is simply a challenge the Bucs will have to overcome if they want to repeat as NFC South champions.

The good news for Tampa is that the New Orleans Saints — the Bucs’ biggest threat in the NFC South — will travel the fifth most amount of miles in 2022 (23,312).
