Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is taking heat for a weird on-field moment that happened in the Bucs’ 31-14 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night.
In the third quarter, with the Bucs trailing 24-0, it appeared that Tampa Bay wide receiver Chris Godwin fumbled (it was eventually overturned).
During the return, Brady tried to pull off a soccer-like sliding tackle to take down the Dallas defender. And fans called him out on social media for it.
Here’s the play:

That’s certainly not a good look for Brady, but I think it was just a moment of frustration from the future Hall of Famer. His team was down 24-0 and there was little hope of a comeback at that point. Brady simply took out his frustration while trying to make a play to take the defender down.
By the way, this isn’t the first time this season that Brady has found himself in hot water because of a sketchy play.
Brady was fined earlier this season for attempting to kick Atlanta Falcons defensive lineman Grady Jarrett after taking a sack.

It’s been a tough year for Brady and the Bucs. Despite the playoff appearance, this season, likely Brady’s last in Tampa, was a disappointment for the entire organization. There will be plenty of questions this offseason about Brady’s future and Tampa’s plans for 2023.
