Local 4-star OL Zykie Helton commits to Bulldogs over Alabama, Georgia Tech and more

Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have locked in their 14th player in the 2026 recruiting class.

Four-star interior offensive lineman from Carrollton, GA, Zykie Helton, has committed to the Bulldogs, according to On3's Hayes Fawcett.  

"BREAKING: Class of 2026 IOL Zykie Helton has committed to Georgia, he tells me for @on3recruits. The 6’3 285 IOL from Carrollton, GA chose the Bulldogs over Georgia Tech, Florida State, & Alabama," Fawcett reported on Wednesday, June 11. 

Helton, 6-foot-2 and 290 pounds, currently anchors the offensive line at Carrollton High School. According to Rivals, he ranks as the No. 31 interior offensive lineman in the 2026 class and sits at No. 54 in the Peach State. 247Sports Composite places him as the No. 457 overall recruit in the nation. 

Helton had originally committed to Alabama back in July 2023 before decommitting following Nick Saban's retirement. And even after Helton dropped weight due to Crohn's disease, the Bulldogs never backed off on getting him to Athens. 

And because of that, Helton's bond with Georgia heightened. 

"Me and Kirby (Kirby Smart, head coach) have an outstanding bond, me and Coach Searels (Stacy Searels, offensive line coach)," Helton said, via Rivals. "I feel like our bond is really unbreakable. Y'all might hear me say that a lot, but it is how they really make me feel right now."

Helton is the third offensive lineman to join Georgia's 2026 recruiting class alongside three-stars Graham Houston and Zachary Lewis.
