It's looking like the Chicago Bears will be more players down in the secondary yet again against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
The biggest news is, Bears starting cornerback Jaylon Johnson did not participate in practice today for the second straight day, due to a hamstring injury.
The entire Bears latest injury report following Thursday's practice can be seen below:
The Bears are also going to likely be without starting safety Eddie Jackson and defensive back Josh Blackwell. Jackson missed Week 3's loss to the Chiefs with a foot injury. Blackwell was inactive in Week 2 but played in last Sunday's game. However, he left the game early with a hamstring injury and did not return.
The good news is, Bears cornerback Tyrique Stevenson was a full participant in both practices this week and should be good to go for Sunday's game. Stevenson left the game against the Chiefs after a helmet-to-helmet collision, seemingly for a concussion. However, he briefly returned to the game before being officially ruled out due to an illness.
It was a strange turn of events, that even Bears head coach Matt Eberflus stated he was confused about on Monday.
"It was weird because they told me both things," Eberflus said. "[Stevenson's] in concussion protocol but really it just ended up being a neck. He never got checked for concussion protocol, it was just his neck."
Eberflus then walked backed on his comments after implying Stevenson was dealing with an injury, not an illness, and later confirmed the fact.
"Yeah, I don't remember exactly what it was," he added. "I don't remember from [Sunday] exactly what it was…Yeah, it was illness. They said it was that. We aren't trying to hide anything."
To make up for the losses in the secondary, the Bears signed cornerback Joejuan Williams to the active roster off the Vikings practice squad earlier this week in preparation for Sunday's game.
