The Chicago Bears are desperately seeking their first win of the season, and, in 14 games. So, it's understandable to see why getting starting guard Teven Jenkins back in the lineup is a big deal.

Jenkins was placed on IR before the start of the season with a calf injury, but he's been cleared to play and will hopefully help the front five contain a Commanders pass rush that includes the likes of Da'Ron Payne, Jonathan Allen, Montez Sweat, and Chase Young.

Per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Bears also released veteran quarterback Nathan Peterman. The team now has two quarterbacks on the entire roster in Justin Fields and Tyson Bagent. Peterman was released in order to place Jenkins back on the active roster.

With Jenkins back in the lineup, veteran Cody Whitehair should slide over to center, which allows the former to get back to action at guard, where he started to show promise in 2022. Whitehair was supposed to be the team's starting center heading into 2023, but Jenkins' calf injury threw a wrench into that plan. Now, it'll be interesting to see how things work out with the third-year player back on the field.
