The Indianapolis Colts are kicking off a new era of football in the 2023 NFL season. That is highlighted by first-year head coach Shane Steichen running the show and rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson leading the way.

With that comes a lot of hype. Indianapolis is closing in on kicking off training camp and really preparing for the first season under a new coaching staff. As that stage in the offseason gets closer, the Colts have added even more excitement.

On Thursday, the Colts unveiled a new uniform look that is referred to as their Indiana Nights alternates. Indianapolis will be wearing a black helmet that features a blue stripe and the blue Colts logo.

Indianapolis has made the white helmet a staple of its franchise. It's always been a clean look that works well with the blue. But with these new uniforms, the Colts are breaking out a black helmet for the first time in its history – and it looks cool.

The rest of the uniform is dark blue with two white stripes on the shoulders and pants. Even more detail, the Colts claim to have the first heathered uniform in NFL history, setting their new threads even more apart.

To bring it all together, the uniform also features a black collar and black outlines as the Colts really aimed to make it a black and blue alternate. It's a solid look that would really look good under the lights.

Indianapolis is set to wear these uniforms against the Cleveland Browns on October 22. If there wasn't enough excitement for the season, the Colts just added even more anticipation for the first season of the Steichen and Richardson era.
