FOXBORO, Mass. — It was grey skies as rain fell down during the New England Patriots 11th Training Camp session.

However that didn't stop one rookie from showing off his skills.

Malik Cunningham threw to Kayshon Boutte in the end zone, with the former LSU receiver fully extending to haul in the ball one-handed on the goal line. Jaws dropped as Boutte made this catch, with the receiver showing up throughout the last few days of training camp.

The rookie is fighting for one of the final spots on the 53-man roster, and is certainly making a strong case.

Here’s what else I saw from Monday's training camp session:

– Second play of the day: DeVante Parker jumped over rookie CB Isaiah Bolden to make a 35-yard catch from Mac Jones.

– Parker is proving to be one of the top targets, making a solid run in the end zone during an 11-on-11 session to beat Jack Jones, but Mac Jones overthrew the ball

– Trent Brown was back at practice and was in pads, but still sat out for some of the team drills

– Malik Cunningham is fast. His speed was on full display, with Mac Jones even saying that maybe he could "take some of his running ability.”

– Cunningham, who was undrafted free agent out of Louisville, saw his most time at quarterback, which is the position he played at during school.

– Officials were on the field with the Patriots, and the team was back in full pads.

-Demario Douglas continues his dominant streak against Marcus Jones in 1-on-1s.

– During 1-on-1s, Christian Barmore lifted Kody Russey off the ground.

– Nick Folk went 5-for-6 on field goals, including making a 50-yard kick. His only miss was on a 47-yard field goal.

– Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla was a special guest at practice.

Quarterback Stats (11v11s)

Mac Jones: 14-for-20

Bailey Zappe: 11-for-20, INT

Trace McSorly: 0-for-2

Malik Cunningham: 3-for-6

– Marcus Jones recorded the only interception of the day on a long pass from Bailey Zappe intended for Raleigh Webb.

Attendance

Out: CB Jonathan Jones, G Cole Strange, ST Matthew Slater, RB/WR Ty Montgomery, OL Bill Murray

PUP: OL Mike Onwenu, S Cody Davis

NFI: OT Calvin Anderson

– Cole Strange walked onto the field in the middle of practice, but didn't have any pads on.

Patriots will be back on the practice fields for the 12th day of training camp at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 8.
