Cam Jordan is entering his 13th season with the New Orleans Saints, and he hasn't made them regret drafting him one bit.
Jordan has put together a very strong resume for himself when it comes to possible Hall of Fame consideration with a Saints record 115.5 sacks, eight Pro Bowl nods, three All-Pro selections, and a spot on the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team.
The former first-round pick isn't just living off his reputation either, he's still making noise in the trenches. When ESPN listed its top-10 edge rushers, which was voted on by coaches, execs, and scouts, Jordan was mentioned in the honorable mention section.
The 34-year-old eight-time Pro Bowler doesn't look to be slowing down. He closed out his 12th NFL season with a 28% run stop win rate, 8.5 sacks and 66 tackles. "Pure power player … He still has enough to know how to get home," a veteran NFL scout said. "Solid against the run. A key part of their scheme. Probably not as dynamic as he once was." –Jeremy Fowler, ESPN
Jordan just wrapped yet another productive NFL campaign.
He logged his fewest snaps ever in 2022 but Jordan had 66 tackles, his second most, and added 8.5 sacks which gives him eight seasons of eight sacks or more.
Jordan couldn't have put together this type of career without help from the injury gods. He's started 191 of the 192 games he's played in with his last missed start coming in his rookie season in 2011.
It's been nothing but Black and Gold on Jordan's jersey in the NFL. However, he will be a free agent after this season so of course talks about his future have surfaced.
Well, Jordan put everyone on notice back in May about what his plans are going forward.
"If we get a deal done, that'll be probably the final years of my career here," Jordan said. "Whatever happens, happens. In terms of how we play, how we want to attack offenses, that's what I'm here for."
There's no telling at the moment how much longer Jordan will be in New Orleans, but it looks like he'll keep being a force no matter what that time frame is.
Saints: Cam Jordan’s greatness solidified in one mind-blowing stat
This is insane to say the least.
