Strengths:

  • Impressive size and athleticism: At 6 feet 4 inches tall, Tee Higgins has a long reach that helps him make catches that other receivers might not be able to reach. He is also fast and agile for his size, which makes him a dangerous player in open space.
  • Contested catches: Higgins has a knack for making catches even when defenders are draped all over him. He is not afraid to go up and fight for the ball in the air, which makes him a valuable weapon in the red zone and on deep passes.
  • Good hands: Higgins has a natural ability to catch the ball cleanly and securely, even in difficult situations. He rarely drops passes and is able to make catches with defenders closing in on him.
  • Deep threat: Higgins has the speed and athleticism to make big plays downfield, which makes him a valuable deep threat for the Bengals offense.

Weaknesses:

  • Not the fastest receiver: While Higgins is not slow, he may not be the fastest receiver on the field. He may struggle to create separation from defenders on shorter routes or when running across the middle of the field.
  • Route running: Some analysts have noted that Higgins may need to work on his route running in order to become a more complete receiver. He may need to refine his footwork and route timing to become more effective on shorter, intermediate routes.
  • Consistency: Higgins had some issues with drops during his rookie season, particularly early in the year. While he improved as the season went on, he will need to work on consistency in order to become a top-tier receiver in the NFL.
  • Agility/suddenness: Some analysts have suggested that Higgins lacks elite agility and suddenness, which could limit his effectiveness as a slot receiver. He may struggle to create separation on quick routes or when making cuts at high speed.
