Former Tennessee Vols assistant mentioned as a replacement for Tom Crean at Georgia

The Georgia Bulldogs haven't fired head basketball coach Tom Crean yet, but it feels inevitable that it's going to happen at the conclusion of the season.
Crean is in his fourth year as the head coach at Georgia. The Bulldogs haven't made the NCAA Tournament under Crean and they've only finished with a winning season once (last year's 14-12 team).
Things have gone from bad to worst this season as Georgia currently sports a 6-23 record.
On top of the bad on-court results, there have also been some off-court issues.
Crean was caught on a live mic recently blaming a graduate assistant for leaking the news of assistant coach Wade Mason's suspension. Crean also threw some shade at one of his players, saying that guard Aaron Good isn't "as good as he thinks he is".
Then there was a question of Crean not properly reporting the physical altercation that led to Mason's suspension.
Just a bad situation for Crean in general.
When Georgia eventually starts looking for a new basketball coach, UGA Rivals.com editor Anthony Dasher thinks that former Tennessee Vols assistant coach and current Wake Forest head coach Steve Forbes could be an option to replace Crean.
From Rivals:
This name may surprise you because he is already an established head coach at Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons (21-8) are currently fifth in the ACC standings and appear headed for a trip to the NCAAs. Forbes has won everywhere he’s been, as evidenced by his career record of 281-85, with 130 of those wins coming during a five-year tenure at East Tennessee State. All 22 of his seniors at ETSU earned their degrees. While it might seem strange that Forbes, who received a one-year show-cause penalty while working under Bruce Pearl at Tennessee, would consider a move. His name continues to be one that you hear when names of established Power 5 coaches are bandied about for potential moves.

It completely makes sense that Georgia would call Forbes — he's done a tremendous job at Wake Forest. But it makes no sense for Forbes to leave Winston-Salem for Athens.
Wake Forest is probably the better job. Georgia, historically, is a football school. It's not a place that's really set up for sustained success when it comes to basketball.
Forbes, who is in his second season at Wake Forest, has the Demon Deacons rolling right now. Wake is 21-7 and poised to make their first NCAA Tournament since 2017.
If the Bulldogs call Forbes, they're going to hear a quick thanks, but no thanks.
I'm sure there's a job out there that could persuade Forbes to leave Wake Forest (maybe the Tennessee job or one of the marquee ACC jobs?).
But for now, it's hard to see Forbes leaving a program that he's quickly turned in a force.
