After every game the Tennessee Vols have played this season, the opposing coach has been at a complete loss in the post-game press conference.

It's been true of Billy Napier, Brian Kelly, and Nick Saban.

And it was true of Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops on Saturday night after the Wildcats' 44-6 loss to Tennessee.

Stoops met with reporters after the blowout loss and he acknowledged that on Tennessee's splash plays, the Wildcats knew what was coming. But they simply couldn't stop it.

"They put stress on you," said Stoops after the game. "We know that. It's really hard to sit here and get beat the way we did and sit there and say you did some good things. That's a punchline waiting to happen for y'all (the reporters). But there were some good stops. I mean there really were. You have to play great as a team. We didn't move the ball, we didn't get first downs, and score."

"There were some (plays) that they hit on us that we worked the heck out of. We should've played better….the two big explosives were something we worked hard on and had a good idea."

"It hurt because we understand what's coming there," added Stoops.

Earlier this season, Saban told reporters that he thought Alabama made good adjustments against Tennessee. But the Vols were still able to hit on big plays despite those adjustments.

Teams know what Tennessee is going to try to do. And opposing coaches — good defensive coaches — have no clue how to stop it.

What's wild is that Josh Heupel is continuing to make tweaks to the offense (like adding fullback runs and option plays) that make things even more difficult for opposing defenses.

There's not a better play caller in the country right now than the Heupel/Alex Golesh duo. And they're just getting better.

The Vols still have a long way to go, but a College Football Playoff appearance is starting to feel more and more likely for Tennessee.
