The 2024 NFL free agency period doesn’t officially open until Wednesday, March 13 at 4:00 p.m. ET, but the NFL's legal tampering period begins on Monday, March 11 at Noon ET.
Plenty of pending free agents have already found new teams for the 2024 NFL season. Who will the Cardinals add to the fold for 2024 and beyond? Below we'll be keeping track of every move that the Cardinals make from the start of the legal tampering period through the various waves of free agency.
Day 1: 3/11 – Legal Tampering Kickoff
Cardinals to sign former Titans CB Sean Murphy-Bunting
According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Cards are signing former Titans CB Sean Murphy-Bunting. This is expected to be a low-cost deal for the former second-round draft pick.
A low-risk, but high-reward deal that could pay off for Arizona by investing in the former second-round pick.
Cardinals to sign former Raiders DT Bilal Nichols
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, former Raiders DT Bilal Nichols will earn a three-year contract from the Cards worth up to $21 million. $14.4 million is guaranteed upon signing.
This position was certainly a need and this deal helps the Cardinals avoid the top-of-market defensive tackle market. A former fifth-round pick by the Chicago Bears, Nichols has a lot of good football left ahead of him at just 27 years old.
Cardinals to sign former Bears DT Justin Jones
NFL Network's Peter Schrager reports that Bears DT Justin Jones is signing a three-year deal worth $30.1M with the Cardinals. A third-round draft pick by the Chargers in 2018, Jones should compete for a starting role in Arizona.
Last season, Jones posted a career-high 4.5 sacks and set a career-high in QB pressures.
Cardinals to sign former Patriots LB Mack Wilson Sr.
According to Patriots beat writer Mike Reiss, the Cardinals have stolen a linebacker and special teams ace from New England. Wilson was a former fifth-round pick by the Cleveland Browns out of the University of Alabama.
The 26-year-old played in all 17 games for the Patriots last season, posting a career-high 1.5 sacks.
