NFL analyst isn't sold on Arizona Cardinals' offensive resurgence ahead of 2024 campaign

Though Kyler Murray is back, one NFL analyst isn’t sold on a Cardinals offensive resurgence moving forward.

It may be the summer of Kyler Murray, but one NFL analyst isn't sold on the weapons around the Arizona Cardinals starting quarterback.

Bill Barnwell of ESPN put together his annual offensive playmaker's rankings, compiling every team in the NFL's collection of wide receivers, running backs and tight ends. The list provides his snapshot of the talent on all 32 teams' offenses heading into the season.

Arizona, coming off a dreadful 2023 campaign, ranked No. 21 in Barnwell's list, directly behind the Cleveland Browns and nine spots better than last year's ranking (No. 30).

"The easiest fit in April's draft was Marvin Harrison Jr. going to the Cardinals, so it's no surprise Arizona eventually landed the likely successor to Larry Fitzgerald with the fourth overall pick," writes Barnwell. "I'll repeat my concerns about expecting rookies to excel from day one — remember that Fitzgerald himself had only 780 yards as a rookie and was overshadowed by a stunning debut campaign from second-rounder Anquan Boldin — but Harrison is as good of a wide receiver prospect as they come."

Barnwell may be doubtful of Harrison's ability to be an instant impact receiver. I am not.

In Arizona's offense, coupled with a playmaker like Murray, Harrison could be one of the most sure bets for Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Couple his production with James Conner's steady run game coming off a career year, and Arizona's playmakers look far more dangerous than ESPN gives it credit for.

And I haven't even touched on Trey McBride, who has looked like the tight end of the future.

Being doubtful of Arizona's ability to be a winning team in 2024 is fair. But on paper, the offensive playmakers look quite impressive.
