On the heels of a convincing home win over the Houston Texans, the Baltimore Ravens will now shift gears to a Week 2 road clash with the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Bengals are currently listed as a -3.5 betting favorite against the Ravens, but this sure will not come as much of a concern to Lamar Jackson.
As noted by ESPN Stats and Info, Jackson boasts an 8-4 record (.667) as an underdog in his run with the Ravens, which is the second-best outright mark as an underdog in the Super Bowl era. Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo holds the top spot in this leaderboard with a 13-5 record (.722).
There were multiple games last season in which the Ravens entered as an underdog, and still, Jackson led the team to a win. For one, the Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers were penciled in as a -2 betting favorite in their Week 8 home game against the Ravens. In the end, Jackson anchored five scoring drives to guide Baltimore to a statement 27-22 road win.
Now, Jackson will look to once again defy the betting odds on Sunday and lead Baltimore to a win over Cincinnati to give the team its first 2-0 start since the 2020 season.
