The Baltimore Ravens officially signed Dalvin Cook to their practice squad on Friday. The move came after the now-former New York Jets running back went unclaimed on waivers on Thursday.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh revealed on Saturday that Cook "wanted" to take his talents to Baltimore.

"It was just kind of an opportunity that Eric [DeCosta] was, once he was released, Eric was in contact with the agent, and Dalvin wanted to come here," Harbaugh said during a press conference on Saturday. "He wanted to be here. So, we'll figure that one out.

"We'll be in the process of figuring out how all that fits, but you sure appreciate having another really good player on your football team."

Cook is just coming off of a roller-coaster run with the Jets. The four-time Pro Bowler signed a one-year deal with the Jets in August, and he went on to post career lows in several stats, including in yards from scrimmage (292) and rushing yards (214).

Baltimore now has a total of six running backs as options for its upcoming playoff run. Gus Edwards and Justice Hill are expected to continue to lead Baltimore’s No. 1 ranked rush offense. From there, it is up in the air as to just who the Ravens will call on to take hold of their No. 3 running back spot for the playoffs.
