While it is a quiet time around the NFL right now with minicamps wrapping up and entering a quiet June, the Baltimore Ravens are staying active.
Baltimore is reportedly hosting a UFL standout for a workout on Monday. Defensive end Malik Fisher is coming off of a standout season of seven sacks, 33 tackles, and a forced fumble in 10 games played.
Fisher is a 6-foot-3, 262-pound former college standout at Villanova. Fisher has 22 sacks over his five seasons played with the Wildcats and started 42 total games there.
The 25-year-old has yet to embark on an NFL career but has proven to be valuable in the UFL, so he is garnering some interest from NFL teams. Ideally, we continue to see more and more from the UFL in terms of players making their way to the NFL. If it can be a feeder program the NFL ideally.
Fisher played in seven games for the D.C. Defenders in 2023 but was not in a starting role.
The Ravens watched Jadeveon Clowney walk in free agency after he was a standout for the defense last season. Baltimore brought back Kyle Van Noy and drafted Adisa Issac. Baltimore is banging on Odafe Oweh and David Ojabo on taking a step forward.
Baltimore will likely be a team that backs on the pass rush coming from a committee of players. If Fisher can come in and give a good workout, the Ravens very well could sign him to the 90-man roster.
One route the Ravens could take with Fisher if things go right is looking to get him to the practice squad when the season rolls around. Either way, more will be known after the visit takes place on Monday.
