Mark Andrews’ sixth season with the Baltimore Ravens likely came to a close on Thursday.

Andrews suffered an ankle injury during the first quarter of the Ravens' home matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. Andrews was down in pain after being on the end of a hip-drop tackle from Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson knew right away that Andrews sustained a notable injury on the play.

Jackson was left speechless when he found out that Andrews may not play again this season.

"It's very tough," Jackson said during his postgame press conference. "I was just telling the [Amazon Prime] primetime crew out there that that's the guy who I entered the league with. We've been bread and butter, peanut butter and jelly — whatever you want to call it.

"It's very tough because that's my boy. That's receiver [No.] 1 sometimes."

Andrews did not return to the game due to his ankle injury. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said during his postgame press conference that the veteran tight end "has a very serious ankle injury, it looks like a season-ending injury. Our prayers will be with Mark."

Baltimore called on Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar to fill in for Andrews at the tight end position after the three-time Pro Bowler left the contest due to his ailment. Jackson is confident that the two backup tight ends will be able to "step up" in Andrews’ absence.

"We have [Isaiah] Likely," Jackson said. "We have Charlie [Kolar]. We have guys who are going to step up, but it's tough."

Likely and Kolar have combined for 10 catches so far this season.
