Pro Football Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe believes that Lamar Jackson is deserving of blame for the Baltimore Ravens’ Week 5 road defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Baltimore’s offense did not have much to go its way against the Steelers on Sunday. The Ravens scored a touchdown on a mere one out of their three total trips to the red zone, and they tallied a season-high seven drops.

Baltimore also turned the ball over three times in the divisional contest, with two of them coming from Jackson in the fourth quarter.

Jackson’s overall showing against the Steelers has garnered mixed reviews, with some claiming that the two-time Pro Bowler does not deserve a share of criticism for Baltimore’s loss on the day. However, the former Ravens tight end sees that Jackson should shoulder some blame for Baltimore's second defeat of its season.

“How many times have we seen quarterbacks, we see Brady, we see some of these other quarterbacks play horrible with interceptions, with drops and when they need to make a play, they make a play," Sharpe said during Monday’s airing of ESPN’s "First Take" program. "That's what they're paying Lamar for.

"So now, when I'm paying you this big money, if I'm paying you top-five, top-three money, those are the level of expectations that I expect for you."

Jackson, who signed a five-year, $260 million deal with Baltimore in the offseason, now holds a 1-3 record as a starter against the Steelers.

Baltimore will next be in action in Week 6 when it meets the Tennessee Titans.
