In their win against the Miami Dolphins on Wild Card Weekend, the Buffalo Bills needed some big plays from their defense.

Early in the game, a lesser known name for national media made a massive play. Veteran defender Dean Marlowe made an interception on Miami's second possession.

That turnover turned into a touchdown on Buffalo's following possession.

It was a heartwarming play for Marlowe, who has played sparingly this season for the Bills. Marlowe is a bit of a fan favorite due to his previous stint with the team. The safety was on the Bills from 2018-2020.

He spent the 2021 season with Detroit and the early portion of this season with Atlanta.

Marlowe has been a bit of a journeyman, but the Bills are thankful that they had him on the field this past weekend.

After the game, Marlowe made a surprising and comical admission about the interception.

“Schematically, I wasn’t in the right position, to be honest…

I’m living right, gotta be living right. Just for me to be schematically not in the right position but for me to kinda have a panic mode and get back and make a play, you know hey, if you’re not in the right position you better make a play. You better make it and I made it.”

Buffalo is surely glad that Marlowe is a savvy veteran wit plenty of NFL experience.

That helped him to get a tide-turning turnovers that gave the Bills a double digit lead early in their win versus the Dolphins.

Not to mention, one saying is definitely true in this situation. "It's better to be lucky than good." It was a good play by Marlowe. but a little bit of great luck was involved as well.

If Marlowe doesn't make that play, we may be having a lot of different discussions about the Bills this morning.
