Everyone knows the Buffalo Bills are set to lose several key free agents this offseason.

In fact, GM Brandon Beane kept it real in his season-ending press conference and admitted that it's going to be a more quiet year than 2022 when the team landed Von Miller.

But while Jordan Poyer's and Tremaine Edmunds' future is intriguing (among that of many other players), one coach's fate is just as meaningful to the team if not more.

QB coach and rising Joe Brady.

Brady didn't arrive at Buffalo on the best of terms after being fired from the Carolina Panthers' staff in 2021. Many argue the current Bills position coach was fired as a scapegoat for Matt Rhule, who was fighting for his job before being let go midseason a year later.

But there's a reason why he's considered a rising candidate in the coaching world and is even fielding interview requests for OC positions across the NFL.

Right now, it doesn't seem as if Joe Brady is in imminent danger of getting hired away. The two teams that have requested an interview with him (Chargers and Jets) have already made their hires at OC.

But a lot of dominoes have yet to fall around the league, with many head coach openings still left to be decided (and corresponding staff moves).

Brady could be the Bills' biggest loss

Losing Brady could be a huge blow to the Buffalo Bills. Not necessarily because of what it means for Josh Allen or the current state of the offense.

But Ken Dorsey remains a question mark at OC and will have a lot to prove in his second year in the NFL. While the overall numbers are good, Dorsey must coach a more consistent unit.

Having Brady on the staff gives the Bills an in-house successor candidate for the job beyond the 2023 season.

The Bills QB coach has an impressive resumé that includes ties to Sean Peyton, the passing game coordination of Joe Burow's famous LSU offense, and did a lot of stuff for the Panthers in 2021.

If he lands elsewhere, the Bills could really miss him if things don't work out with Dorsey next season.
