Protecting Josh Allen should be the organization's most important priority. Aside from that, finding a replacement for Tremaine Edmunds should be a close second.

Bills Mafia knows all too well the kind of beating Allen took last season. Admittedly, some of the shots the franchise quarterback took were self-inflicted by refusing to go down or trying to gain an extra yard or two. The Buffalo Bills offensive line was one of the worst in the league and the team needed to do something this offseason to bolster the protection for one of the highest-paid quarterbacks.

It also goes without saying the type of hole left on the roster from Tremaine Edmunds' departure. Buffalo lost their signal-caller on defense and hadn't made any moves to fill that major roster need before the draft. While there are a few middle linebackers on the roster, the fanbase was desperate for the team to draft one. While McDermott and Beane took a linebacker, it may not be the replacement fans were hoping for.

In the second round, Buffalo selected OL O'Cyrus Torrence from Florida. Torrence will look to immediately make an impact on the roster as he was one of the best OL in the entire draft.

For their third-round pick, the fanbase was much more divided with Brandon Beane's selection of Tulane LB Dorian Williams. Williams is more of an outside than an inside linebacker and doesn't necessarily fill a need. In fact, Beane during his media availability discussed that Williams would be starting camp as an outside, not an inside linebacker.

Chad Reuter, Draft Analyst for NFL.com gave the Buffalo Bills high praise for their decision to protect Josh Allen in Torrence and take a 'replacement' for Tremaine Edmunds in the Dorian Williams selection.

Torrence is a first-round talent. The Bills can use his bulk and quick feet up front. Even after signing Connor McGovern this offseason, the value was too good for the Bills to ignore. Williams isn’t a household name, but he meets the team’s need at inside ‘backer after losing Tremaine Edmunds.

When the dust settles and the smoke clears it'll be interesting to see how Beane's selections pan out. If Williams winds up being a special teams player who doesn't contribute and Torrence rides the bench all year, it will surely be a failure for next season. Adversely, if the two wind up contributing early and often, Beane will look like a genius once again.
