There aren’t many things this Buffalo Bills team can’t do. During yet another Bills victory, this time over the Green Bay Packers, Buffalo showed that they have taken major strides in an area of perceived weakness.
The only question surrounding the Bills’ offense is centered around the efficiency of the run game. Quarterback Josh Allen can do a little bit of everything, but there will undoubtedly come a time where the Bills’ rushing attack will need to grind out close games.
Though the Packers were never really within an arm’s reach of Buffalo, running back Devin Singletary is showing steady signs of progress behind a balanced game plan from offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey.
Dorsey dialed up an even split of pass plays and run calls at 27 apiece. Not only did Dorsey keep the Packers on their toes, but Singletary had the Green Bay defense on its heels.
Singletary ran for 67 yards on 14 carries, posting an efficient 4.8 yards per tote. Allen added 49 yards on six runs and rookie James Cook chipped in 35 yards on five rushing attempts.
It has to be tough for Dorsey to take the ball out of Allen’s hands, but Singletary has earned his trust this season.
As long as the Bills’ running backs continue to churn out chunk plays on the ground, Allen becomes even more dangerous with the big pass play constantly looming over opposing defenses.
