Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott traded up in the NFL draft to get their guy. The dynamic duo wasted no time with their first-round selection. Ken Dorsey gets yet another weapon to work with Josh Allen on the high-powered offense.
The Bills made their decision and have traded up with the Jacksonville Jaguars to take Utah TE Dalton Kincaid with the 25th overall pick. Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Buffalo got the 25th overall in exchange for 27 and 130 going to Jacksonville.
Kincaid is a big-bodied offensive threat. The former basketball star in high school erupted in Utah and took advantage of every opportunity. The seam-stretcher is a glorified wide reciever who put on a show during his tenure with Utah. The talented tight end finished his college career with 107 receptions for 1414 yards and 16 touchdowns.
The tight end will compete as a blocker and look to add a spark to the already impressive offense. With Dawson Knox, a top-ten paid tight end, already on the roster, Buffalo may look to deploy some two tight end sets.
Bills Mafia is going to love what A to Z Sports' Tyler Browning said about the talented tight end.
Ball Skills: Has reliable hands, won’t see many drops out of his game. Has shown he will go low and make catches away from his frame. Has shown exceptional awareness to get feet down when near the sidelin
Below is The Athletic's Dane Brugler's scouting report, as well:
Overall, Kincaid is still developing his play strength and consistency as a blocker, but he is an above-average pass catcher with the burst, body control and ball skills to be a weapon in the slot. He projects as a playmaking “move” tight end in the NFL.
Buffalo giving Josh Allen another dominant weapon is a net positive. Wherever Allen is right now, he's probably smiling. Brandon Beane stayed patient and let the board fall to him.
