The NFL draft is almost here and the Buffalo Bills have some important decisions to make.
Depending on how the board falls or what the Bills do with trades beforehand, this has all the makings to be one of the franchise's most important drafts in recent memory.
After Tremaine Edmunds walked in free agency and joined the Chicago Bears, an immediate need for a middle linebacker emerged. That, and the issues with the offensive line last season have fans clamoring for some help to protect Josh Allen with the draft. Outside of that, offensive playmakers are always the talk of the town, especially with players like Bijan Robinson potentially falling to the team at 27 overall.
However, one draft analyst has another move for Buffalo in mind.
Matt Miller, an NFL draft contributor with ESPN has Buffalo looking at wide reciever, providing Josh Allen with a different type of help in the 2024 draft. To be clear, Miller has the Bills landing the wide reciever in the second round of the draft, steering clear of their number 27 overall pick.
Miller highlighted Jonathan Mingo, WR, Ole Miss as an option for Buffalo that could make an immediate impact on gameday. When speaking on Mingo, Miller highlighted what makes the NFL hopeful so impressive. "The buzz started at the Senior Bowl, when scouts and coaches were talking about Mingo's build looking like A.J. Brown's. At 6-2 and 220 pounds, he does resemble Brown or Alshon Jeffery when watching him in person. And like those big-bodied wideouts, Mingo has the power to box out defenders and is a menace on breaking routes, helping him to 16.9 yards per catch last season. He ran a 4.46-second 40-yard dash at the combine and elevated his status to Round 2 target."
Another speedy, big-bodied target for Josh Allen could be exactly what the team needs to help take the offense to the next level. Getting some offensive line help and weapons for Josh Allen is never a bad thing.
With the draft rapidly approaching, let's see what Brandon Beane has up his sleeve.
