The Buffalo Bills released a statement on the status of Damar Hamlin on Wednesday. The update is what fans of the Bills and around the NFL have been longing for all this time.

Damar is going home.

After one of the toughest weeks in NFL history, as the football world navigated a scary situation, it's amazing to hear the Bills safety is healthy enough to be discharged from Buffalo General Medical Center shortly after being discharged from UC Medical Center.

"We have completed a series of tests and evaluations, and in consultation with the team of physicians, we are confident that Damar can be safely discharged to continue his rehabilitation at home and with the Bills," stated Dr. Jamie Nadler, critical care physician and Chief Quality Officer at Kaleida Health said via the Bills.

Bills HC Sean McDermott said at a press conference after the statement was released that they'd give Damar Hamlin the freedom to take his time before returning to the team when he's ready.

Meanwhile, the Bills have a playoff game to prepare for this weekend. They're scheduled to play at noon on Sunday against the backup-quarterbacked Miami Dolphins. Knowing that Hamlin keeps progressing should make preparation significantly easier for the humans taking the field.
