The Buffalo Bills have made a decision on the future of the organization, parting ways with offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey almost immediately following the loss to the Denver Broncos.
It's been a few weeks of speculation surrounding his departure. With a few brutal losses, head coach Sean McDermott has been candid that things need to change, and it starts with Dorsey.
If the playoffs were to start today, Buffalo would be on the outside looking in. For now, Bills new interim offensive coordinator will be Joe Brady, who has a tough task ahead of him to try and deploy his own version of the offense rather quickly as Buffalo has a tough slate ahead of them.
McDermott had, numerous times, indicated that the team would be sticking with Dorsey, that they simply needed to execute better on offense but he had faith that Dorsey would turn things around.
After the loss last night, McDermott had a different tune to sing. During an interview with the press, McDermott offered that he needed 24 hours to really think about any sweeping changes and that he was unhappy with the current situation. Well, less than 12 hours later it appears he has made the decision to fire Dorsey.
There were a few weeks there where Dorsey really elevated this offense, but the team has fallen flat since then. With injuries to the defense, Buffalo really needed to step up on offense but was just unable to. Turnovers, poor execution, and ultimately Josh Allen not looking like himself.
For those who have been calling for Dorsey to be fired, you have your wish. The organization quickly needs to turn things around in attempt to salvage their season and this move is an indication that they are unhappy with the current regime and understand the pressure the team is currently in.
