The 2022 Buffalo Bills were arguably the most talented team in the NFL. Loaded with talent across both sides of the ball, one Bills veteran has been in a league of his own over the last five years.

Bills safety Jordan Poyer has been one of the team’s MVPs since coming over from Cleveland in 2017. Poyer’s impact cannot possibly fly under the radar, but his dominance has been unlike anything the NFL has seen in recent history.

Poyer is the only player in the NFL that has recorded 20 interceptions and tallied 10 sacks since the start of the 2017 season.

He has been a model of consistency ever since he stepped foot in Buffalo. Though he dealt with injury issues in 2022, Poyer has been as durable as defenders come in today’s NFL.

Unfortunately Poyer’s future is uncertain at the moment. He is set to his free agency when the new league year begins in March.

The Bills, who are up against the salary cap, will have to make plenty of tough decisions on impact players. That being said, Poyer is likely high on general manager Brandon Beane’s priority list.

Spotrac projects Poyer’s market value to hover around $11 million per year. Though nobody questions his true impact, the Bills must decide if paying Poyer, who turns 32 this offseason, is the right decision as the team moves forward in 2023.
