The Buffalo Bills lost a heartbreaker to the Jacksonville Jaguars in a game that felt like the team just wasn't ready to compete. The travel to London may have proved to be too difficult as they struggled to get anything going on offense and the team looked sluggish for most of the contest.
To add insult to injury (no pun intended), injuries found a way to impact the game in a huge way. By now you've all heard about the scary injury to Matt Milano in which he was immediately ruled out of the contest and needed to be carted off the field.
On top of injuries, penalties played a crucial part in the loss as it seemed like anytime the team got something going on offense, it would be called back with a holding penalty. Just an awful day across the board for the Bills.
Allen wore the weight of the loss on his shoulders while talking to the media postgame, opening up on what went wrong with the team that had previously been dominating on offense leading up to the matchup.
Allen opened up on the stout Jags defense and how they were able to shut them down, "We weren't very efficient on first and second down. Never felt like we really got into a rhythm until late there. They came out and they had a good plan."
That's when Allen opened up on a brutal admission from a Buffalo Bills perspective, "The opposing team, they were ready to go today. We weren't."
Speaking on the fanbase and their impact, Allen gave them their flowers, "Great energy in the stadium. They showed out, it seemed like there was a lot of Bills Mafia in the house which was great. Just wish we could've given them the win."
Allen provided an in-depth look at the issues at hand. This team cannot continue to play like this if they hope to bring home the first-ever Super Bowl for Buffalo. An ugly loss with a chance to bounce back next weekend against the Giants.
