Expectations continue to rise for the Buffalo Bills as the season gets nearer and nearer. That's true for fans watching the team score touchdowns in six consecutive drives and it's true for insiders around the league.
This time, it was Albert Breer from the Monday Morning Quarterback who shared a huge reason to be excited about the Super Bowl favorite Bills:
"The Bills look like a machine right now, and you can even see it with new guys, both older (O.J. Howard) and younger (James Cook, Khalil Shakir). When I was at their camp, I felt like they had this sort of quality that you saw watching the 2007 Patriots or '13 Seahawks practice – just with the way it looks. Saturday's preseason game only backed that up for me."
Isn't that great to hear?
Obviously, the Bills' success will start and end with Josh Allen's play at quarterback. But being one of the best rosters in football – if not the very best – you have to love what's being said about the depth in Sean McDermott's team.
The Bills were one of the luckiest teams when it came to health last year. According to Football Outsider's metric "adjusted games lost," they were the second healthiest team in the NFL.
That will likely not be the case again this season since injuries are heavily influenced by luck. As such, the Bills' depth across the roster will be of the utmost importance if they want to fulfill the Lombardi-caliber expectations set for them.
According to Breer, they have that from "older and younger" players. Pair that with Josh Allen's approach to the pressure on his shoulders and it's difficult not to feel confident about the 2022 season.
