Another day, another injury for the Buffalo Bills.
There are growing concerns on the offensive line as retirement and season-ending injuries have already hit the position. That, and they just haven't been good if we're being honest. I wrote about the issues with the offensive line in my takeaways article after the team's most recent preseason contest.
Now, another offensive lineman has gone down as Sal Capaccio reported on the development.
Offensive guard Connor McGovern, who was acquired this offseason, was down at practice today. Albeit brief, it still makes us nervous. Trainers took a look at McGovern and did some work on his right knee before ultimately putting a long sleeve on his leg. While he didn't go to the locker room, McGovern's day was finished.
We previously wrote about McGovern signing with the Bills with a hint of optimism as we've spent the offseason pounding the table for the team to bring in some reinforcements for Josh Allen.
McGovern played left guard and center for the Cowboys last season. He’s played snaps at right guard, as well. He joins an offensive line in Buffalo that already includes Ryan Bates, Ike Boetger, Spencer Brown, Dion Dawkins, Tommy Doyle, Mitch Morse, Alec Anderson, Greg Mancz and Ryan Van Demark and needed help at left guard, right guard and right tackle last season.
The offensive lineman joined an already long list of players who have been added to the injury report. Aside from McGovern, Matt Barkley, Jordan Mims, Khalil Shakir, Von Miller, Terrel Bernard, and Dorian Williams all appeared with different ailments.
Grab the bubble wrap and do whatever it takes to get this unit healthy and competing. McGovern isn't the first offensive lineman to be injured during practice as Spencer Brown also had quite a scare.
Here's hoping it's nothing serious and that it's a speedy recovery for the offensive lineman.
Bills’ Von Miller is back on the field with helmet and leg pads doing individual drills
The Buffalo Bills veteran pass rusher Von Miller is eyeing a return to football. From one simple video, fans were given a reason to celebrate as he continues his rehabilitation.
