The Buffalo Bills OL Tommy Doyle grabbed his knee in pain and then was ruled out in the preseason matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Doyle was taken by the Bills in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft and has been fighting for more playing time.

Throughout his career, Doyle has been limited to only 12 games in two seasons and essentially missed the entire year to an ACL injury last season.

Sal Capaccio reported that Doyle would be missing the rest of the game with a knee injury. Doyle briefly went to the medical tent and had trainers tend to his knee before returning to the sidelines to cheer on his team. Doyle, as Capaccio reported, did not go into the locker room.

The Buffalo Bills need all the help they can get on the offensive line. Far too often Josh Allen has been forced to scramble for his life and play hero ball, the team has been making a concerted effort to bolster that line which includes Doyle.

If Doyle were to miss substantial time, the team might be forced to look away from him. His inability to stay on the field or healthy is out of his control and we wish nothing but the best for him. Here's hoping it's nothing serious and he can be back on the field sooner rather than later.

An unfortunate injury for a player hoping to make a difference.
