Brandon Beane, once again, filled a position of need.

NFL free agency has been a rollercoaster of emotions so far. Most of the moves the Bills have made have been to try and shore up some cap space.

Re-negotiating, restructuring, and extending players seemed to be the primary focus thus far in free agency.

However, it appears that with the extra cap space, Brandon Beane and company are looking to become buyers instead of sellers.

After losing Devin Singletary, Buffalo wanted to pick up yet another running back.  Singletary was the Bills' RB1, with his departure all signs are pointing to the backfield belonging to James Cook. While the Bills currently have Duke Johnson, Nyheim Hines, and James Cook on the roster, Cook has the best shot at winning the RB1 position.

Adam Schefter, NFL Insider, broke the news of Buffalo making a deal to acquire Damien Harris. Harris, who previously spent time with the New England Patriots, will help open up a new layer to the Bills' offense.

Harris, a four-year veteran, had a career-high 929 rushing yards in 2021 to go along with 15 rushing touchdowns. Last season, through only 11 games, the veteran running back totaled 462 yards.

Despite a new deal with Nyheim Hines, it appears that the one-two punch may very well be with James Cook and Damien Harris moving forward. Adding a versatile, veteran running back to the mix is only going to help Cook grow as a professional.

Anytime you can give Josh Allen another weapon, it's a net positive. Brandon Beane was up front, discussing the plan to bring in another RB.

Just hours after Singletary was lost to free agency, Beane made sure to fill that roster spot. We have a feeling this isn't the last move up his sleeve.
