The Buffalo Bills are about to travel to London to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in their Week 5 contest.
There's been a conversation across social media about how the team was playing in Buffalo, now traveling to London, to prepare for a game against a time that's had extra time spent in the country in order to prepare. Buffalo has been given a slight disadvantage, but previous history may swing in the Bills' favor.
Just last season, the Bills were in an unfortunate circumstance that forced them to play three games in 12 days, an unprecedented accomplishment in the modern NFL. What's more, all 3 of these games were outside of Orchard Park.
With weather bearing down on Buffalo, the NFL needed to move the Bills' home game against the Browns to Detroit due to a winter storm. Luckily, the following contest was already against the Lions, just 4 days later in which the Bills were able to secure a gutsy victory. Fast forward to a few days later and the Bills had to enter Foxborough in which they proved victorious over the New England Patriots.
On top of the 3 games in 12 days, the team was battling illnesses, and injuries, overcoming tragic incidents in the community, and so much more.
All of that to say, the Bills are known for fighting through adversity and have some recent history with unfortunate travel demands. For that reason, Buffalo is given a slight boost in their upcoming contest against the Jags.
While traveling to London isn't ideal, nothing will be as brutal as that stretch of 3 games in 12 days last season. They will use that previous experience to fuel them and try and secure yet another dominant win early on in the season.
