The Buffalo Bills couldn't seem to recover fully after the Von Miller injury.

Miller suffered the ACL tear during a contest with the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day. Unfortunately, injuries and recovery were a common occurrence last season for the Bills. Tre White was still working to get at 100%, Micah Hyde was out for the year after the home opener against the Titans, and even Josh Allen dealt with his own injury concerns.

However, it seemed as though Miller's absence was one that was missed the most down the stretch. The defensive line just wasn't able to have the same level of success without the superstar pass rusher.

Miller is a freak athlete, this is perfectly exemplified by what happened immediately after his ACL injury. Bills Mafia remembers all too well when Miller discussed being back in just a few weeks before ultimately finding out in exploratory surgery that his ACL was torn and his season was over.

It should come as no surprise that Miller is now telling fans he wants to be back by week one against the New York Jets. While Miller may want to be back on the field, McDermott and the Bills front office have historically been very patient with returning players back, especially from such a serious injury.

Miller, when talking to Channel 9NEWS in Denver, gave his own version of his return timeline while heaping praise on the organization.

"I trust our GM, I trust our athletic trainers, I trust our team, our owners. Whenever it's time for me to play, I'll be ready to go," Miller continued, defiantly. "I want to be ready (for) Week 1 versus the Jets. Aaron Rodgers, 'Monday Night Football.'

The superstar pass rusher, almost within the same breath, came back down to earth when discussing his timeline and the things that may be outside of his control.

"But at the same time I'm not in control of that. I'm going to do everything I can physically, mentally, emotionally to be ready for that. But if it's not the first week of the season, then it won't be any longer than Week 6, for sure."

Bills Mafia and the entire organization are going to want Miller back sooner rather than later as the team is paying a king's ransom for his services. With Poyer and Hyde back and healthy, Tre White hopefully returning back to All-Pro form, and Miller's return, the team will have no excuses why they shouldn't be competing at a high level, even with Sean McDermott taking over playcalling for the defense.

Miller is doing everything he can to get back on the field and make a difference. That's all the more reason to love the type of player he is. Miller is an incredible leader both inside and outside the locker room and is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team to victory.

Not only that, but Miller is an incredible personality and cheerleader for the organization as well. He riles up the fanbase by working out with players like Derrick Henry and vocally recruits stars like OBJ to come to Buffalo.

Regardless if it's week one or week seven, the Bills Mafia is ready to see Miller back on the field.
