The Buffalo Bills are hoping to get back their premiere pass rusher in Von Miller, sooner rather than later.
Miller, almost immediately after his injury against the Lions on Thanksgiving last season, went on Twitch to discuss his return to football. At the time, Miller didn't know the extent of his injury but relayed to Bills Mafia and the world that he wanted to be back within the next week or so.
However, after exploratory surgery determined he had an ACL tear, his season was derailed and the Bills just couldn't seem to get after the QB quite the same way without Miller on the team.
With that being said, take Miller's updates with a grain of salt. If it were up to him, he would be back tomorrow. The Bills doctors and training staff won't rush him back but are eagerly awaiting his return.
In the first few days of camp, Brandon Beane opened up on Miller and his availability for potentially returning for week one against the Jets. "I don't know either way yet. We haven't decided." He continued, "No determination yet whether they (Miller and the rest of the PUP players) would be off of PUP by week one."
The fact that the answer wasn't just a flat-out "no" tells you all you need to know. While the faintest of chances, Miller could return much sooner than anticipated. Miller himself added fuel to the fire with an Instagram story letting the world know just how badly he wants to return.
While it was brief, the video shows Miller exploding past his workout buddy, with a simple message: "I'm close."
Miller is going to do everything he can to help this team win and try to get on the field as soon as possible. While it's almost impossible it's week one, Miller is going to fight and claw to get back sooner than some doctors would probably like.
For us, we don't mind if he sits out week one. That turf at MetLife is brutal.
