The Buffalo Bills missed Von Miller last season, that's inarguable.
Looking at the stats, it was clear that Buffalo played their best football when Miller was on the field. After he tore his ACL on Thanksgiving, it felt like the season had changed.
While Buffalo still had a dominant defense and an offense led by Josh Allen, you can't replicate what Miller can do on the football field. The superstar pass rusher was brought into Buffalo to make a difference and, while healthy, he did just that.
What made his season-ending ACL injury even more devastating was actually Miller himself. Right after the Thanksgiving injury, he went live on twitch.com to discuss his plans and what his injury was looking like. Miller smiled and remarked that he was hoping to be back to face the New York Jets in a few weeks. Just a few days after he made those remarks, when doctors performed exploratory surgery, it was determined he did in fact tear his ACL and would be sidelined for the rest of the season.
However, with Miller being available to the media and the offseason program officially underway, the Bills Mafia and the rest of the world got an insane update from the man himself. The NFLPA discussed what could happen during the voluntary practices during this current phase. During those practices is where Miller shocked the world.
Just months removed from tearing his ACL, Miller is back in action doing drills, without a knee brace. The insane update proves just what a different type of athlete Miller is, and further excites the fanbase in hopes that he can return to the field sooner rather than later. Miller is defying the odds by how quickly it appears he is rehabbing from his injury.
Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott are not going to rush the superstar pass rusher back on the field. Although this is a step in the right direction, Miller still has a long way to go before lacing up the cleats and suiting up for gameday.
For now, this update should rile up the fanbase and get the Bills Mafia ready for more football.
Miller can't wait to get back on the field and neither can we.
