The update was released on social media and is highly encouraging as Hamlin appears to be "neurologically intact" per the Bills.
In the statement, the Bills point out Hamlin remains critically ill and his lungs continue to heal.
Since Hamlin's collapse on Monday Night Football, Hamlin has been in critical condition after being administered CPR and AED on the field at Paycor Stadium.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport added details to the situation on social media by reporting Hamlin opened his eyes on Wednesday night and is responsive. Rapoport added Hamlin is "gripping the hands of those close to him."
Damar Hamlin's agency sent a message on social media thanking the outpouring of support across the nation. Professional sports teams in every league have shown support for the Bills safety in all kinds of ways while his Chasing M’s Foundation Community Toy Drive has raised over $7 million as fans, players, and celebrities continue to show their support.
