DeAndre Hopkins

Once again, Buffalo is in the spotlight over DeAndre Hopkins acquisition rumors.

The All-Pro receiver had been released from the Arizona Cardinals and has spent the past few weeks shopping himself around to other teams.

Hopkins had visited with the Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots, sparking controversy across social media in whether Hopkins wants to truly win a ring, or if he wants to secure the bag.

What started as a simple post including "Buffalo" on Instagram has morphed into one of the biggest hype trains in recent memory.

The Bills Mafia is clamoring for Brandon Beane to make a move and bring in the talented receiver, and Hopkins has even expressed wanting to play with Josh Allen.

It appears it's all coming down to the money and what Buffalo can offer compared to other teams. The Buffalo Bills would need to pull off some more cap space trickery to get in the ballpark of what Hopkins is hoping for. That is unless Hopkins was willing to take a pay cut to truly chase a ring.

Buffalo, based on OverTheCap.com, has a little under $5.5 million compared to the $17.7M the New England Patriots have and the $8.3M the Tennessee Titans have available.

Jeff Darlington, ESPN NFL Insider, talked about the current state of affairs between Hopkins and the Buffalo Bills on the Rich Eisen Show.

Speaking on Hopkins and the Bills, Darlington pointed to the organization's desire to bring in the All-Pro receiver, something that's been heavily reported since the start of the rumors. However, Darlington expressed what could be holding the team and Hopkins back from working together.

"My understanding with the Bills is, yeah, they love DeAndre Hopkins, and he'd be a great addition, but they're not gonna pay him. If he wants to ring chase, there's a spot for him."

Hopkins is going to have to decide if he wants to chase the bag, or if he wants to win a ring. He's talked an awful lot about the Bills organization and his desire to play with Josh Allen.

Come to Buffalo, become the best version of yourself, take a little less money, and become a legend. All that he would need to do is help win a ring, free chicken wings for life.
