DeAndre Hopkins will be suiting up and playing for the Tennessee Titans this season.
For the past few months, it seemed like a very real possibility that Hopkins would be teaming up with Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs to form one of the best trios in the entire sport.
From mentioning "Buffalo" in an Instagram post, to smiling when the prospect of playing with the Bills was brought up, to even saying Josh Allen first as a quarterback he wants to play with, all signs pointed to Buffalo.
Things quickly soured almost immediately after Jeff Darlington appeared on The Rich Eisen show, talking about how Hopkins had a spot on the Bills if he wanted to chase a ring, to which Hopkins immediately shut that notion down on Instagram.
Now, it might've been for the better when looking at the upcoming season with the current slate of weapons Allen and second-year offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey have at their disposal.
Buffalo was already in a tough spot with their cap situation so the likelihood of landing Hopkins was always in question. While the team could've worked on some restructures or extensions, Beane had his work cut out for him
By not landing Hopkins, saving that money that could go towards some extensions or re-signings in-house, Beane looks like a genius (or wizard) once again. Furthering that, some stats on Gabriel Davis are yet another reason why Beane and the front office may have dodged a bullet in landing Hopkins.
While Hopkins has missed time, he didn't make the list for the most touchdowns, including the playoffs, since 2020. Diggs landing at number six was no surprise as he's been a dominant force since pairing with Josh Allen. However, Davis found his way at 10, having 26 touchdowns since 2020.
Davis, taking an important next step this season, paired with Diggs and Josh Allen could be exactly what the team needs. Outside of that, Beane showed his genius in another way, by drafting Dalton Kincaid.
Kincaid is most likely going to take some of the inside routes, a place where Hopkins shines, meaning that had the Bills landed Hopkins, their newly acquired first-round pick may have suffered.
Don't get us wrong, Hopkins would've been a great addition to this offense, but looking at sustained success and what the offense currently is, Beane proved to be a genius by not messing with the formula.
If Dorsey is able to help unlock the true potential of Davis and Kincaid, paired with what currently exists on the offense, this is a very scary team… without Hopkins.
Dalton Kincaid helps raise money for Camp Puzzle Peace
The Buffalo Bills appear to have struck gold with their first-round pick, Dalton Kincaid. The tight end wasted no time winning over the hearts of the Bills Mafia.
