By now the entire world knows of Josh Allen being the cover athlete for Madden.
The Bills Mafia gets to celebrate a player from their beloved organization gracing the cover for the first time in franchise history.
Josh Allen, during an event in Buffalo to celebrate the momentous occasion, broke the news of perhaps an even bigger surprise. One that is sure to spread like wildfire across social media, and make the beloved fan base smile.
When the cover art for the video game was revealed, it featured two separate images. On the standard version of the game, it's simply a photo of Josh Allen. However, in the deluxe version of the game, Bills Mafia is included.
Originally, fans thought that actors had been included. Surely they weren't actual members of the Bills Mafia, right? However, when being interviewed at his event, Matt Parrino recorded a now-viral response from the franchise quarterback.
Speaking on the members of Bills Mafia included in the cover art, Allen excitedly explained, "These are all members of a Bills Backer bar down in LA. I don't think they were told this was for the cover of Madden. They probably found out a couple days ago too. It's so well represented with how passionate Bills Mafia is and how much we love them and how much they fuel us."
Some lucky members of the Bills Mafia have the life-changing opportunity to grace the cover of Madden with perhaps the greatest quarterback in franchise history. Bills Mafia is a devout fanbase and including them on the cover means the world to the fanbase.
Bills Mafia co-founder, Del Reid, provided AtoZ Sports with a quote on what the fanbase being on the cover of Madden means to him and the rest of the fanbase. "I'm thrilled the team has the national notoriety, and that the fanbase is included as part of it."
Reid, outside of being the co-founder of Bills Mafia, has continued to give back to the community in a big way. Del helps run 26 Shirts which, as their official Twitter indicates, produces "limited edition Buffalo designs that do good for families in need." The organization has been able to donate over $1.75M to the city of Buffalo and, as indicated above, families in need.
As the event began, before Allen discussed the Bills Mafia, EA Sports had a special gift for the quarterback and the city of Buffalo. They had presented Allen with a check for $10,000 to go toward Oishei Children's Hospital in Buffalo. Bills Mafia remembers all too well the connection with the hospital. After Allen had lost his grandmother during the COVID season, fans started flooding the hospital with donations. Over $1M was donated and a wing of the hospital was named after Allen's grandmother. An incredibly classy move from EA Sports and yet another positive moment for the city.
Allen has embraced Buffalo since his arrival and has been the ultimate professional both on and off the field. It's only fitting that he gets the opportunity to be the latest cover athlete.
Soak it in Bills Mafia, it's a great day to be a fan.
