Much has changed since the Miami Dolphins (8-5) downed the Buffalo Bills (10-3) by the score of 21-19 in a Week 3 matchup in sunny south Florida.

The Bills have rattled off four straight wins while the Dolphins have dropped each of its last two games. Though the team teams are trending in different directions on the field, Buffalo is counting on one significant advantage that has nothing to do with football.

Let It Snow

Buffalo is expected to get somewhere in between two-to-four inches of snow on Saturday night with wind gusts up to 25 miles per hour. For a Dolphins team that has the luxury of a temperate Miami climate, along with an offense reliant on speed, the snow could help slow the game down for Buffalo.

Playing in below-freezing temperatures is nothing new for the Bills. In fact, Buffalo thrives in cold and blustery weather conditions.

Sure, Josh Allen would love to throw for 350 yards every weekend. However, the Bills are structured to win without an explosive output in the passing game.

Interestingly enough, the Bills are the NFL’s lone team to have eclipsed 100 rushing yards in every game this season. If the weather calls for a run-heavy style of football, the Bills will be up for the challenge.

Revenge Is Best Served Cold

Miami might have dug its own grave in the first matchup between these AFC East rivals. On a hot and humid Sunday in Week 3, the Dolphins were reluctant to let the Bills use cooling equipment on the sidelines.

That decision certainly bears monitoring, especially considering the Dolphins needed heaters present on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday night. You read that right, Miami needed heaters in the frozen tundra known as L.A.

The Dolphins aren’t built to win in the cold. They like a fast track, relying on wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle to make plays down the field.

All of the stars are aligning for Buffalo to even up the season series on Sunday. That being said, the offense is going to have to show up early. Buffalo must force the Dolphins to play from behind in an environment that doesn’t cater to taking shots in the passing game.
