Well, that was an absolute beatdown. The Buffalo Bills beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in every phase of the game on Sunday in a game that was over by halftime.

After heading to the locker room with a 31-3 lead, the Bills would close things out with a strong defensive third quarter in which they allowed no points.

If you've watched Bills' football this season, you know that's nothing new. In fact, five weeks into the season, they've now gone five straight games allowing zero points in the third quarter!

Sure, that won't sound like a great stat against the uninspiring Steelers' offense. But keep in mind the Bills have also held the Baltimore Ravens, Tennessee Titans, and Los Angeles Rams to similar marks!

To be able to come out of halftime that strong on defense will continue to be a huge part of Buffalo's success. Being able to shut down teams that receive the second-half kickoff, as they did on Sunday versus the Steelers, is a huge aspect of dictating the terms of the game.

The Bills forced the Ravens to a three-and-out drive to open the third quarter last week, which sparked a remarkable comeback win against a top-tier opponent. This is the kind of trend that differentiates good teams from great ones.

Of course, it's not only about defensive performance either. Strong outings from Josh Allen and company have put the Bills in the driver's seat in some of these games, forcing opponents to deviate from their original game plans.

Well-balanced, complimentary football, baby!

The Bills held the Steelers to zero points in the third quarter despite a red zone trip from Kenny Pickett's offense.
