The Buffalo Bills are coming off a crucial victory against the Jets, 20-12.
While the offense wasn't firing on all cylinders, Josh Allen and company did what they needed to in order to get the job done.
The lackluster offense, compared to expectations early in the season, was in question once again.
Allen was able to put the team on his shoulders and secure the victory on Sunday.
Impacts on the game
The poor weather played a factor as a mix of rain and snow had an impact on the outcome. That, and the Bills' dominant defensive front wreaked havoc on Mike White all afternoon. This forced Josh Allen to not have to play hero ball and instead play at his own pace.
Isaiah McKenzie sounds off
McKenzie, who was a darling in camp, has been under the scrutiny of Bills Mafia this season for his not meeting the fans' expectations. Although, expectations are premeditated resentments, making McKenzie's sky-high expectations nearly impossible to reach.
Nevertheless, it was once again a performance that led much to be desired.
Specifically, McKenzie failed to bring in a crucial third-down reception that forced the team to punt.
McKenzie, just hours after the game, had a message for Bills Mafia or anyone questioning his performance.
You mess with the bull, you get the horns. This is yet another example of that. These professional athletes are people, and the extra criticism seemed to be a little too much for the veteran wide receiver.
McKenzie made the direct challenge to Bills Mafia, or anyone doubting his talent, to participate in a wet ball drill.
Whether it's Ken Dorsey's execution, or McKenzie's inability to get looks during the game, there are plenty of different arguments to be made regarding the receiver's output.
However, when looking at the stats for the talented receiver, drops aren't a huge part of his game. In fact, McKenzie is one of the best in the NFL in terms of bringing in his passes. Sunday notwithstanding.
Lil dirty is a crucial component
McKenzie is a beloved member of the Bills who has given so much back to the community. The nicknamed "lil dirty" has had some very bright, shining moments as a Buffalo Bill. Adversely, he's had some poor performances as well.
The Bills will continue to build on an impressive start to the season. Undoubtedly, McKenzie will be a part of that process as the receiver signed a recent contract extension with the team.
Comparing this year to last, the Bills are in great shape heading into the last part of their season.
The team controls its own destiny which is all you can ask for. Miami, get ready. It's going to be cold in Buffalo.
