It is expected Bryce Young could see similar playtime to his game against the New York Jets in Friday's matchup with the New York Giants.
And with it, the Carolina Panthers rookie quarterback hopes to see legitimate improvement from last week, when the offense sputtered, and Young only completed four passes in a 27-0 loss.
“It was just a unique opportunity being able to play in the first NFL game, ya know, preseason game,” Young said. “But still, just gettin’ your first live, full team snaps—that was great. That was fun.
“And there’s a myriad of things that I want to improve on as an individual, us as a unit want to improve on. Just better operation, better execution for myself—first and foremost. Us a unit, as a team—wanna execute better. But, again, that’s a day-by-day process. We try to approach every day with an 0-0 mindset.”
Head coach Frank Reich told reporters Wednesday that Young will play a similar amount of series and snaps that he did against the Jets.
And Young is prepared to execute against what is going to be a tough Giants pass rush.
"it is an opportunity for us to see different stuff," Young said. "This being a scheme that brings a lot, I think it is a great opportunity to see how we fair. We are doing everything we can to account for those and figure out how we can take advantage of it."
Young wants to take on the pressure he knows he will face head-on. And if the private meeting the offensive line held after the thrashing against the Jets changed anything, the Panthers will see the results come Friday night.
"We are looking at it as an opportunity," Young said. "It's all about turning it around."
