Well, the news gets a little bit worse.
On Friday afternoon, the Carolina Panthers ruled out wide receiver DJ Chark, who has been nursing a hamstring injury, for Sunday's Week 1 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.
And if one wide receiver out for sure wasn't enough, veteran wideout Adam Thielen is questionable as he continues dealing with an ankle injury.
Both Chark and Thielen are offseason additions to the Panthers wide receiver room that has barely made it to the first game of the season.
The goal was to surround rookie quarterback Bryce Young with veteran playmakers, but the recent injury news says that won't be the case in Week 1.
The team will continue to monitor Thielen's ankle, but Chark's hamstring continues to remain troublesome.
