With uncertainty around when Carolina Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn will be able to play again, the team's front office made a move to bridge the gap.

On Thursday morning, the Panthers signed Sam Webb, a cornerback from the Raiders practice squad. He now holds the 53rd spot on the Panthers roster which was sitting at 52 for a day.

The roster was at 52 players because the Panthers placed Brady Christensen on injury reserve. Christensen is expected to miss the rest of the 2023 season.

The Panthers still have Donte Jackson and CJ Henderson, along with Troy Hill and D'Shawn Jamison, and defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero said they were still sorting through their options there.

Webb stands at 6-foot-2, 195 pounds. He was an undrafted rookie in the 2022 season, and he caught on with the Raiders in the spring of that year. He appeared in all 17 games for Las Vegas as a rookie, totaling three starts, 36 combined tackles, three passes defended, and a forced fumble.

Webb played his college ball at Missouri Western State University from 2016 to 2021.
