Newly released details reveal a possible reason the Panthers dismissed the VP of player personnel
Adrian Wilson and the Carolina Panthers parted ways on Sunday. It turns out there is more to the story.
It was initially reported that the Carolina Panthers and Adrian Wilson, the vice president of player personnel, parted ways on Sunday.
As it turns out, there is more to the story.
On June 1, Wilson was arrested at his home in Arizona on three charges related to domestic violence: assault, criminal damage, and disorderly conduct, according to Scottsdale police, via The Athletic. All three charges are misdemeanors.
"Adrian Wilson will not continue in his position as Vice President of Player Personnel for the Carolina Panthers," a team spokesperson said. "Consistent with our organizational policy on employee matters, we will have no further comment."
Wilson's tenure with the Panthers was very brief. He was hired in February of 2023, which was seen as a homecoming for the High Point, North Carolina, native who played college football at N.C. State.
Wilson is the most recent former employee to be terminated during David Tepper's tenure as the Panthers owner. Under Tepper's leadership, the Panthers have fired three head coaches mid-season, including Frank Reich in 2023 after a 1-10 start.
The Panthers are 31-68 under Tepper and have yet to make the playoffs.
